Questions
About this calculator.
What is the difference between reported and true margin?
Reported margin here is price minus landed cost, referral fee and FBA fee before anything else. True margin also takes off storage, ad spend and the cost of returns, which is where most SKU-level losses hide.
What does break-even TACoS mean?
TACoS is ad spend divided by total sales for the SKU. Break-even TACoS is the highest ad share this SKU can carry before every sale loses money, given the other costs you entered.
Where do I find my FBA fee and referral fee?
Both are in Seller Central, on the fee preview report or the order transaction detail. Referral rates vary by category, so use the rate for this SKU's category rather than a general figure.
How should I estimate the loss per return?
Use what a typical return actually costs you: any return processing or refund administration fee, plus the landed cost of units you can't resell. If most returns go back to sellable stock, the figure is small.
Do you store what I type?
No. The maths runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us or saved.
What does the paid audit add?
This page checks one SKU from numbers you type. The Seller Ops & Profit Audit builds the same table for up to 150 SKUs from your real reports, checks fee and size tier errors and reimbursement claims, and ranks the fixes by dollar value. It costs $750 fixed.
